Since childhood I have travelled to the small island next to Malta called Gozo. My mother is from the island so for me it has always been a place connecting me with family. This EP contains music and sounds mostly recorded while visiting the island.

On recent trips I have started capturing some of the sounds of the island. The track "Island Tour" is a pure field recording sound walk which takes the listener from the Inland Sea at Dwejra, through to the Tal Mixta Cave which overlooks Ramla Bay. We then visit the stormy sea-front village Marsalforn before sitting calmly by the docks at Ċirkewwa. Finally the tour lands in Victoria, capturing the bells from the walled citadel and the dizzyingly loud sound of birds nesting at dusk right in the centre of the city.

These sounds have inspired the music in this EP which was also recorded in Gozo, using an iPad, Synthstrom Deluge and a pair of Senheisser 8020 micorophones. The tracks capture for me at least, some of the textures and moods the island offers.
